Hours: Part-time approx. 30 hours per month (flexible working hours)

Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Responsible Finance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the council’s financial affairs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and promoting fiscal responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and annual accounts.
- Manage payroll, VAT returns, and audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
- Advise the council on financial matters and strategy.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the public sector.
- Strong understanding of local government finance regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft 365.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A relevant finance qualification is desirable.
