Yateley Town Council is currently seeking a full time Town Clerk (37 hours per week) to lead one of the larger Town Councils in Hampshire. Yateley, Darby Green and Frogmore has a population of approximately 22,000, spanning an area of 2,722 acres comprising of housing, retail, local amenities and many areas of beautiful open space.

The Council manages a wide range of facilities including six community buildings, Heathlands Cemetery, Swan Lake Park, numerous playgrounds and sports facilities, an allotment and around 44 hectares of open space.

We’re a friendly team, working together to deliver a range of high quality services for the wonderful parish of Yateley and so seek a like-minded, innovative and dynamic person to fulfil the Council’s ambitions.

You will need proven leadership and management skills, across people and project related activities. The ability to build positive working relationships with Councillors, staff and partner organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors is essential.

As the Council’s key advisor, you will need to have the knowledge to impart sound procedural advice and be able to provide quality information to the Council to facilitate effective decision making.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Are an experienced and qualified Clerk, or have a successful track record elsewhere in the Local Government sector or are from a legal, governance or finance background in another sector and are willing to quality as a Clerk;
  • Know how to lead, coach and motivate the team to deliver the Council’s objectives, whilst maintaining a positive working environment;
  • Can ably work on many different tasks simultaneously, to meet often challenging deadlines;
  • Are enthusiastic and can build really effective working relationships to achieve successful outcomes;
  • Have vision and a ‘can-do’ attitude to successfully execute the Council’s range of projects;
  • Are available to work in the evening to attend Council meetings;
  • Would enjoy working in a community focussed environment.
