Town Clerk and Finance Officer

Mold is a traditional market town in Flintshire NE Wales with a population of 10,500.

With the promotion of the Town Clerk and Finance Officer, the Council is seeking to appoint an innovative Town Clerk, with suitable experience, to take responsibility for all aspects of the management, functions and responsibilities of the Council.

Our current budget is in the region of £439,000. Candidates must have a sound knowledge of local government legislation and procedures, hold a relevant professional qualification and the successful applicant will hold the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) or be willing to work towards obtaining it. The role is full time, at 37 hours per week. These hours are inclusive of the administrative duties associated with a Town Council and attendance at Town Council and Committee Meetings.

The Town Council offers flexible working arrangements, by agreement.

The Council provides a number of statutory services, but in addition to them, is very active across a wide range of other activities and Mold is renowned for its busy calendar of community events and works with many partners.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is midnight, 8th September 2023; interviews are planned for 19th September 2023.
