Honiton Town Council is looking for a dynamic person who has loads of experience of local Government and who has the CiLCA qualification to fill this intrusting and challenging role.

Honiton is a busy market town in East Devon with a population of about 12,000 people.

The town clerk would manage a staff of 5 and be responsible for servicing 18 elected councillors.

The town clerk is also the Responsible Financial Officer, and will therefore be responsible for ensuring that all financial matters are dealt with in the correct way.

Honiton Town Council is involved in a number of interesting and exciting projects, to which the town clerk will lead on. There is therefore a need for the successful applicant to have experience in project management.

The town clerk must have an extensive knowledge of the Local Government Act 1972, and other legal aspects of running a successful town council.

The council is looking for a person with a go ahead attitude who will move the council forward.

Salary will be based on LC3 Scales 33 to 36.

A contributory Pension Scheme is in place.
