We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and experienced public sector manager to succeed our current Town Clerk who is retiring.

Waltham Abbey is a thriving market town in south west Essex and within the Epping Forest District Council area and is administered by a pro-active Town Council. The town has an area of 4241 hectares making it the largest parish within the Epping Forest District; it has a population of 20390, and a budget of £1.3m approx.

The council operates a wide range of facilities including the Town Hall and Cornmill Function Suite, and the Town Mead Bar and the Mead Function Suite. The council uses the GPC and holds the Local Council Award Scheme at Quality Gold level. The pro-active council is currently facilitating the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan and is working to be carbon neutral by 2030, and intends to continue working with its partners to create a regeneration programme to benefit the community.
