Meltham is located on the outskirts of Huddersfield on the edge of the Pennines. The town comprises Meltham and three outlying villages of Helme, Wilshaw and Healey Houses with a population of circa 9,000. The current make up of Meltham Town Council (MTC) is eleven Independent councillors and one Green.
MTC employs a Town Clerk and one other member of staff who is cleaner/ caretaker for the Robert Ashton Memorial Park (RAMP). The Park which is owned and managed by MTC is on the cusp of a major refurbishment project.
MTC is seeking to recruit a forward-thinking, innovative and proactive Town Clerk to fulfil not only the statutory duties, but also build relationships with community groups, businesses and residents within the Township. We are seeking a Clerk who can help to deliver value to local residents, to help maintain the Town Councils’ sustainability and wider vision.

You will ideally be CiLCA qualified, or willing to study, with a proven track record in administrative and financial management together with the necessary skills in people management and leadership, communication and organisation.
