Framlingham is an attractive and vibrant market town with a population of approximately 5,000, in the East Suffolk countryside.

It has a magnificent castle, strong heritage, independent shops and two markets per week. It is a centre for the local community and surrounding villages and attracting more and more tourists.

Due to recent changes in the Council and Staff, we have started to develop new and interesting plans, including a five-year strategic plan. This will include additional events and tourist attractions as well as improvements to the town amenities. The Council is busy with multiple income streams and assets and these need proactive management.

We are looking for a Clerk/RFO (although we will consider someone as a Clerk only), who has significant experience of working in a Town Council and can bring energy and positivity to the role, as well as good managerial experience. This person should be a strong leader, who can communicate effectively, and expand on the good work that the staff and Council are already doing.

We would prefer someone with CiLCA although we could consider someone with the experience that we are looking for, who would be prepared to study for the qualification. We would prefer a full time Clerk but would consider fewer hours for the right candidate.

The remuneration will be commensurate with experience and qualifications but will be in the LC3 range of the local government pay scale.
