ONH team members, Leani Haim and Leah Coney, will be telling stories of how they have helped local councils to win key planning application, appeal, local plan and neighbourhood plan decisions. Both have had senior clerk roles at town councils and have planning qualifications. They are leading the delivery of ONH’s new planning and development consulting services for local councils.

Bringing Communities into Planning

This session looks at how the role of Clerk can be a conduit for engaging communities in the future of their local places. From engagement sessions and workshops to support Neighbourhood Plans, to co-design in the upgrade and management of community assets like halls, shops and public realm. Focussing on best practice examples, with straightforward ‘how to’s’, clear lessons learnt and inspiring examples, members can expect to leave this session with ideas for how communities can be meaningfully engaged in the planning of their local areas.
