Many SLCC members have concerns about the legislation giving the power to conduct remote meetings which expires in May and we have therefore raised this directly with MHCLG. We are also working closely with our colleagues at the Association of Democratic Services Officers (ADSO) and Lawyers in Local Government (LLG) who intend to secure the ongoing use of virtual meetings as a decision making tool for local government both in the short term and medium term. They are seeking joint counsel’s advice before deciding upon the next steps. We will keep you updated on developments as soon as we have them.
