As part of a wider package of support measures to assist clerks in navigating the challenges of unitarisation and devolution, we have launched a new Legal Directory – a practical resource designed to help members make informed decisions when seeking legal advice.
The directory is now available on the SLCC’s dedicated Devolution webpage, where it complements a growing collection of tools and guidance aimed at supporting clerks through a period of significant local government reform.
This launch follows the publication of the English Devolution White Paper – Power and Partnership: Foundations for Growth in December 2024. In response, SLCC has created a central hub of resources to help clerks understand and respond to these changes.
The Legal Directory lists legal firms that offer services relevant to the local council sector. Each firm has submitted its entry independently, in its own words and format. SLCC encourages members to review each listing carefully and make their own informed choices based on the information provided.
