12 September 2022The government has announced that there will be an additional bank holiday on Monday 19 September to mark the occasion of the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. In accordance with Part 2 Para 7.1 of the Green Book, all employees will be entitled to a holiday with a normal day’s pay on the additional bank holiday.
Unless a local agreement is in place, employees who are required to work on Monday 19 September should receive public holiday pay, plus time off with pay at a later date.
Part 2 Para 7.1 states: Employees shall, irrespective of length of service, be entitled to a holiday with a normal day’s pay for each of the statutory, general and public holidays as they occur.
