Updated Covid-19 Guidance

2 February 2022

In Wales, from the 28 January working from home became guidance rather than law, face coverings are still required on public transport and in most indoor public places. Nightclubs re-opened with COVID Passes being needed for large indoor events, nightclubs, cinemas, theatres and concert halls. In hospitality there are no restrictions on meeting people and no requirement for table service or two-metre physical distancing.

England moved to Plan A on the 27 January where restrictions were relaxed. The government is no longer asking people to work from home, and members are being advised to talk to their employers to agree arrangements to return to the office. There is not a legal requirement to wear a face covering, rather it is being advised for crowded and enclosed spaces. Venues and events are also no longer required by law to check visitors’ NHS COVID Pass.

Updated guidance has also been released on managing public outdoor settings including toilets and playgrounds and for venues holding wedding and civil partnership ceremonies, receptions and, celebrations, which will be of interest to local councils.
