The BBC has reported that Witney Town Council in partnership with Earthwatch has planted what is said to be the UK’s first ‘tiny forest’.
Six hundred native trees will be planted on a plot roughly the size of a tennis court. The fast growing, dense forest will mimic natural woodland. The trees are capable of storing carbon, improving air quality and cutting noise pollution. The forest will also soak up water to reduce flooding and attract wildlife.
