Course Overview
This 60-minute webinar will cover one of the five CiLCA units, and clarify what is expected for submissions.
To provide more tailored level of support, each webinar will be limited to a maximum of 6 delegates.
You are advised to come prepared to ask questions and share your thoughts.
Sessions are not recorded to protect confidentiality.
If you have not attended a CiLCA training course, the awarding body recommends that you attend training to assist you in completing your qualification. You should always contact your County Association first, to find out the dates and cost of your County Association CiLCA training. CPD Points: You can claim 1 CPD point per CiLCA focus session
Requirements
You should have:
- Attended CiLCA training with the SLCC or your County Association within the past 18 months.
- Enrolled on the CiLCA qualification
- Access to the relevant CiLCA portfolio guide
- Access to a computer/laptop in a location where you are not disturbed
Attendance Requirements: Students who receive training and mentoring through their County Association should contact them in the first instance to find out if they provide a similar virtual service as it is preferable to undertake CiLCA training locally.
About the Trainer
Paul Egan holds the CiLCA qualification and has been the Clerk to Llandough Community Council for 35 years. He is also the Deputy Chief Executive of One Voice Wales and has responsibility for leading on the national training programme for Councillors. In his former career, he was Director of Human Resources/Deputy Chief Officer for the South Wales Probation Service and during his long career in this field he was a member of a range of regional and national policy making groups. Prior to his early retirement he was Acting Chief Probation Officer for the South Wales area. He is currently a Trustee of a local charity and a Director of a private limited company. Since early retirement he has worked as a freelance HR Consultant and for around 2 years was the Corporation Secretary for a Cardiff based College of Further Education. He has always been an advocate of training and development and is committed to helping Clerks successfully complete the CiLCA qualification.
