The parish council has 19 councillors and a team of 14 staff. It is the first tier of local government, with responsibilities including managing Burnham Park Hall; large playing fields, the George Pitcher Memorial Ground; parks and playgrounds; street furniture and local amenities; a wide variety of community events; supporting local organisations; and representing the views of the local community on issues such as planning and on local and national consultations.
