The Clerk Magazine, September – OUT NOW!

13 August 2021

The latest digital version of The Clerk magazine is now available online for SLCC members.

This edition’s special feature, Living with Covid-19: Changes in Working Practices, looks at some of the innovative work carried out by local councils across England and Wales to support their communities. IT has played an integral part in continuing communication and being able to meet remotely. Clare Evans FSLCC, Clerk to Houghton Regis Parish Council, takes a look at the changes councils have had to make as a result of the increased reliance on IT and how it has changed working practices. You can also see the results of the SLCC member survey on Working Practices During and Post Lockdown.

For those interested in professional development, we take a look at Community Governance from a student perspective. Their personal reflections offer a deeper insight into the demands of balancing study with their day to day working lives and how rewarding the experience has been.

As always, there is something for everyone in this edition including planning, legal matters, branch briefings, a look at parish precepts in England 2020/21 and much, much more.
