Cullompton is a town and civil parish in the district of Mid Devon. It is 13 miles north-east of Exeter and lies on the River Culm. In 2011, the parish as a whole had a population of 8,499 while the built-up area of the town had a population of 7,439. This is due to increase dramatically with planned development of over 6,500 homes. Currently, the Town Council team comprises of the Town Clerk, Assistant Town Clerk, Finance Officer, Admin Assistant and four Outdoor Maintenance Operatives.
The Deputy Clerk’s role is proposed to be:
- 37 hours per week
- SCP24 – 28 (£31,099 to £ 34,723)
- Starting salary commensurate with experience.
The post of Deputy Town Clerk is a challenging, but rewarding role, supporting the Clerk and Town Council, as part of a committed team.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with a ‘can do’ attitude, who can demonstrate a proven record in administrative and project management.
Experience of working in a local government environment, is preferred and some evening and occasional weekend working will be required.
