Responsible for overseeing both the operational management and strategic development of the service, you will make sure the instructions of the Council are carried out.

The post demands high levels of personal autonomy and creative leadership skills, providing councillors with the information required so they can make effective decisions.

It is desirable but not essential to have previously worked in local government but you must be prepared to work towards the Certificate in Local Council Administration or other equivalent qualification within one year of commencement if you are not already CiLCA qualified.  You will be the Proper Officer, of the council with oversight of the RFO duties.

Please complete the Town Council’s application form in addition to submitting your CV. Your covering letter should be no more than two sides of A4 in length and should be aligned to the person specification. CVs on their own will not be considered and we will not be accepting applications from recruitment agencies.

At interview, candidates will be expected to make a 10minute presentation (verbally or by using Power Point) on ‘Your vision for a successfully run Stratford-upon-Avon Town Council and how you will deliver this vision in your first six months’.
